The East West Foundation Of India
The East West Foundation of India (TEWFI) is a charitable and educational foundation committed to working with the local communities towards their development and empowerment, socially and economically marginalized people in the rural state of Tamil Nadu, India. This is being done through a range of initiatives in Health Care, Education, Child Rights and Relief, Community Development and Environmental Sustainability.
Founded by Dr. Natteri V. Chandran in 1993, TEWFI has support from individuals and organizations across the globe, who donate funds, valuable skills and resources. Our status with reference to taxation: In accordance with regulations within India, TEWFI ensures transparency and accountability of all donations made within India or from overseas. Resulting from the quality and impact of its work, TEWFI is recognized by the Government of India as a charitable and educational foundation. Therefore, it has tax deductibility status in India under Section 80G of the Indian Income Tax Act, and has also obtained FCRA permission from the Reserve Bank of India to receive foreign funds directly into its account.
